Stardew Valley confirmed for Nintendo Switch release

Stardew Valley confirmed for Nintendo Switch release

Stardew Valley is heading to the Nintendo Switch on October 5th, per an announcement from the developers. We all knew the game would be coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2017. It'll set you back $17 AUD which seems fairly decent for the amount of hours you're likely to put into the game. The Switch version will also be the first to receive Stardew Valley's upcoming multiplayer mode, which comes out later next year.

Stardew Valley originally released in February previous year and its gloriously exuberant take on Harvest Moon style farm life sims was a barnstorming success, managing to rack up more than a million sales in little over a month.

Eric Barone (aka ConcernedApe), the game's developer, confirmed the October 5 date through a tweet linking to a detailed brief on Stardew Valley's website.

The Nintendo Switch version will be available on Thursday for $14.99, according to the post.

Regardless of any Switch-exclusive content in Stardew Valley, Nintendo fans should be excited to finally get their hands on the critically-acclaimed game.

Inspired by Harvest Moon, "open-ended country-life RPG" Stardew Valley was an instant hit when it released in 2016. The game is now available on PC, Mac, PS4, and Xbox One.
