The feature was first tested in Portugal last month before TechCrunch spotted it in the US and got confirmation from Facebook that it's coming to everyone.

Stories - which was ripped from Snapchat - became an official Facebook feature earlier this year, but it's yet to take off. Just select it and your Instagram Story will appear on your Facebook Stories. "We are always working to make it easier to share any moment with the people who matter to you", a Facebook spokesperson told the publication.

Instagram has launched a very sneaky new feature in its Stories section that links users directly to the equivalent section in their parent app Facebook. After all, no one uses Facebook Story. Interestingly, the social media giant has also confirmed to TechCrunch that the feature will be officially rolled out for everyone around the world.

Facebook Stories were introduced globally in March 2017 after testing the feature in Ireland.

Basically, Facebook is still trying to make Facebook stories happen, and quite like "fetch" it's never going to happen - Let it go Facebook.

Many called the introduction of Stories to the newsfeed a last-ditch effort to get the feature to catch on with Facebook users. For example, if you share a Status on WhatsApp, then you would also be able to share it directly on Instagram as well as Facebook directly from there. Have you ever used Stories on Facebook? After it started gaining widespread popularity in the beginning of 2017, they released the Stories feature onto Facebook too.
