Two terrorists arrested for Banihal terror attack

Two terrorists, responsible for killing a head constable of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and wounding another jawan, were nabbed by the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday.

A police official told Rising Kashmir that, "The two militants have been identified as Gazanfer and Arif". "Two persons have been arrested during midnight from Banihal in connection with attack on SSB Camp near Jawahar Tunnel on September 20", top police officer told Mirror. Sources own police said that the arrested youths appeared to have been motivated by the militants in adjoining South Kashmir to join the militant ranks and carry out the terror attack. "The terrorists have been handed over to the police and hunt for Aquib is presently on", the Indian Army said.

The weapons and ammunition looted from the SSB men have also been recovered from the arrested militants. "As of now, we can only say that they were radicalised. probably even through cyberspace", he said in response to a query.

"I am happy to announce that within 30 hours we have been able to arrest both the people involved in this attack, both the weapons snatched from SSB personnel have been recovered", said SDS Jamwal, Inspector General Jammu. "We shall not allow any terror module to come up in Jammu region", he added.

"The apprehension is a significant blow to the nefarious designs of anti national elements in promoting and supporting terrorism in otherwise peaceful Chenab Valley".
