Surprise: The SNES Classic launch wasn't a disaster

Nintendo is selling the new console for $79.99 and the package includes and HDMI cable and a USB cable with an AC adapter.

Sounds like every retro-gamer's dream. Previous year saw the release of the popular Pokémon Go and Super Mario Run games for mobile devices, along with the hybrid Switch console, which made its debut in April to mostly stellar reviews and high demand.

ThinkGeek might not be the first place you think of when purchasing a console, but the firm does offer them.

Nintendo has also made some upgrades for the Super NES Classic after criticism of the original NES Classic.

If you like this stream, you should check back every Tuesday and Thursday for the USG Lunch Hour! It comes preloaded with twenty-one original games.

A feature called Frame also allows players to pick a border around games to fit today's wider-screen TVs.

We already know that some NES games will be available on the Switch once the full version of their online service launches sometime in 2018. As previously stated, Star Fox 2 has never been released before. And the simple, side-scrolling gameplay of the past is no match for the interactive worlds created by augmented and virtual reality games. Less lucky was suburban Chicago, which had been entirely cleared out by lunchtime - sorry Charlie - as had most of the stores we lucked out on this morning. But with the NES Classic set to rerelease next summer, Nintendo might just be riding that classic console gravy train for the foreseeable future. "I want to see if I can beat Super Mario World like I used to".

But for a child used to touch controls on mobile devices, other games were harder. Last year most stores only got five or six NES Classic Edition consoles to sell on launch day, but this year gamers across the country are reporting that many stores had 50 or more Super NES Classic Edition consoles to sell today.

Target (tgt) has promised that each of its stores will have SNES Classic Edition units available.
