Champions League to test coach Klopp's progress

The Brazillian midfielder who requested to leave the club durring the summer transfer window to Barcelona missed the start of the season due to injury and also the defeat to Manchester City as a result of the extended training and recovery time he was given after the global break.

Liverpool return to the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night to host La Liga giants Sevilla.

Daniel Sturridge will be another option at Anfield-and if the striker does feature, it would be his first outing for the Reds in the Champions League. I will have the situation all the time now over the next three or four weeks. The quickest, easiest way to end all of this as quickly as possible is to cup tie the player at the earliest possible moment.

They both came through a play-off round to reach the group stages of this season's Champions League.

Midfield: Klopp may decide to play two in central midfield with Emre Can dropping in alongside skipper Jordan Henderson to help counter the attacking threat of a unsafe Sevilla side.

Dejan Lovren is also set for a recall after being left out of Saturday's 5-0 thrashing at Manchester City with the Croatian coming in alongside Joel Matip.

Liverpool still lacks that powerhouse leader at the back, the decisive voice, the talisman who will put his head in where it hurts.

Sevilla are a decent team and their attacking players will hurt Liverpool if they are given the space to work their magic, but Klopp's side have even more firepower at the other end of the field.

Speaking after receiving his award, Salah told Liverpool's official website: "I'm very happy to have this start with the team and to help the team win points and win games".
