Friday's Weather: Showers and storms will develop this evening and overnight

As of right now we are not expecting severe storms.

Today: Isolated showers and thunderstorms after 1pm.

The Weather Prediction Center is projecting more than 3 inches in the Wichita metropolitan area through Saturday, with more than 4 inches in northern Oklahoma. Winds N 5-10 miles per hour.

A chance for rain and thunderstorms remains in the forecast through at least mid-week.

50/50 WEEKEND OUTLOOK: The pattern slows down, so more showers and thunderstorms are possible through the first half of the weekend.

AccuWeather says the day should be mainly cloudy and more humid.

Friday night, the low will be around 64 with a north northeast wind of 5 miles per hour becoming calm in the evening, according to the weather service. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Today: Early showers then decreasing clouds. The main hazards would be gusty winds and hail.

Temperatures will break above the 80-degree barrier Saturday and mostly keep rising through next Thursday, forecasters say.

East winds at 5-10 miles per hour.

Thursday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy with a high near 84. The high will be 89; winds will be southwest around 5 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation 50 percent. Storm chances continue through the weekend and into next week. A few showers are still likely through the overnight period, in addition to some patchy areas of haze and fog. Models are keeping whatever develops well east of the southeast coast.

Monday Night.Mostly cloudy. Small rain chance. Although this isn't a washout, there will be a chance of a few showers.

After a wet start to the work week, the Piedmont and Triad got a bit of a break from the showers and storms Wednesday and Thursday.

Wednesday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Tuesday night - Partly cloudy with a low around 65.
