Who is Trump's new lawyer, Jay Sekulow?

Sekulow defending Trump was nothing new.

Trump regularly praises the Fox News morning show on Twitter but that didn't stop co-host Brian Kilmeade from challenging the president's Twitter usage. If there is an investigation of the circumstances of Comey's firing, and the Deputy Attorney General (who is serving as Acting AG for the investigation due to Jeff Sessions' recusal) was instrumental in the firing, that sure looks like a conflict, Turley says. To make it even more hard, their client's public statements often threaten to undercut their work. However, the attorney general (or in this case Rosenstein ) can block major investigative steps if they determine that the action "is so inappropriate or unwarranted under established departmental practices that it should not be pursued".

"The president has not been notified by anyone that he's under investigation", Sekulow answered. Basically, it seems like the entire reasoning behind saying Trump isn't under investigation is that Trump hasn't been told by anybody that he is. The New York Times reported Monday that Corallo's recent tweets have included praise for Mueller and a suggestion that Vice President Mike Pence should be the Republican nominee in 2020.

"To say, "Comey told him he's not under investigation, so he can't be" - that's illogical".

In another sign of the gravity of the situation, Trump's legal team blitzed Sunday talk shows to contradict the President's tweet Friday where he said he is already under investigation.

In testimony before the Senate Appropriations Committee on Tuesday, Rosenstein pledged that Mueller would maintain his independence and said he would not follow orders to fire the special counsel unless he believes "those are lawful and appropriate orders". The denial comes days after Trump appeared to confirm he is being investigated, sending a tweet complaining that he is the target of a "witch hunt".

Kushner, who is also Trump's son-in-law, came under scrutiny last month when The Washington Post reported that he proposed setting up a secret back channel of communications, using Russian facilities, between Trump and Moscow during the transition period.

The interviews suggest that Mueller sees the question of attempted obstruction of justice as more than just a "he said, he said" dispute between the president and the fired Federal Bureau of Investigation director, an official said.

Rubio said "a full and thorough and credible investigation that reveals everything" is "the best thing that can happen for everybody", including Trump. "That's the constitutional threshold question here". "I don't think that's a mystery".

Kasowitz heads the group despite his lack of deep experience in Washington or in criminal defense. He also represented Sen.
