Trump has repeatedly echoed the accusations against Qatar, even as his Defense and State Departments have tried to remain neutral in the dispute among key allies. "Our expectation from King Salman is that he be the leader in solving this problem", Cavusoglu said at a joint news conference with his Tunisian counterpart.

Just in November previous year, US has approved a possible sale of F-15QA aircraft to Qatar for $21.1 billion where it can get upto 72 fighter aircrafts.

"Qatar is an important force for political stability and economic progress in the Persian Gulf region", the agency said.

"This is of course proof that United States institutions are with us but we have never doubted that", Reuters news agency quoted a Qatari official in Doha as saying.

US President Donald Trump expressed support for the allegations against Doha, which categorically denied them.

Qatar hosts the regional headquarters for the US Central Command, which includes a state-of-the-art airbase that the US depends on to target the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Al Jazeera said it was unclear if the arrival of the two warships to Doha was planned before the Gulf rift or if it was a sign of support from the Pentagon.

The deal is going ahead despite the US President's condemnation of Qatar last week, when he also appeared to take partial credit for the blockade. There is such a crisis between sister countries and there are some steps that directly affect people.

"The Prime Minister raised the ongoing isolation of Qatar in the Gulf region, calling on all sides to urgently de-escalate the situation, engage meaningfully in dialogue, and restore Gulf Cooperation Council unity at the earliest possible opportunity", a spokesperson for May said in a statement.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Thursday held talks in Kuwait to push mediation efforts aimed at resolving a standoff between a Saudi-led alliance and Qatar.

Turkey has said that it stands with the tiny Gulf state against sanctions and has urged Riyadh to take the lead in finding a solution to the crisis.
