Curry, Durant committed to keeping Golden State on top

Mary High School in Akron, he plans to "always push forward and not look backwards" during the offseason and ready himself for the pursuit of an eighth straight trip to The Finals.

“It would mean everything. "I agree with that description", Curry said, "if you remove the 'et'".

"Winning a championship is the ultimate goal and everybody here experienced that, and we want to experience it again". It is a business.

"We're going down as one of the best teams ever and that's a special thing you can not take away from us", Warriors reserve Andre Iguodala said. Injuries occur, other teams improve faster than expected, and sometimes the strain of playing together for so many years simply wears a roster down.

LeBron James may be the game's greatest player but the manner in which his Cleveland Cavaliers were dispatched in the NBA Finals on Monday may have signalled that his championship window has been slammed shut.

"It's just a great group of guys, great community, great arena, great fans", Durant said after the Warriors clinched the title.

The Golden State Warriors are the 2017 National Basketball Association champions and Kevin Durant is the MVP.

"We just won the championship and I guarantee that wasn't on anyone's mind", Durant said. Nothing should distract from what we were able to accomplish together.

"I remember the first day of camp and I walk into camp, and I didn't know what to expect, I didn't know what these guys were like on the court", Durant told reporters after the game.

"As we go into talks and this whole process - which is obviously new for me - I will approach it as getting the most as I can as an individual, as a player, something I've been working for for a very long time", Curry said. "So we knew this team was beatable, we knew we can play better, and [Game 4] is the result you get when we play at our best".

Kyrie Irving added: "We understand how special that team is down there". Well see what happens. I think we handle (the White House situation) when it gets there. Two-years-ago, the team met Barack Obama, but they may skip a visit to meet Donald Trump.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr sees Durant as that missing piece to turning a formidable club into a historic juggernaut.

Curry, Kevin Durant and their teammates are determined to build a dynasty together and they might just be well on their way. "I might call him and say, 'If they ask, just say our schedules conflicted.' And then if y'all write something, we'll say, 'Fake News'". "Steph definitely took a back seat to start the season until he realized we didn't need him to take a back seat. We were the most disciplined team all year, we preached teamwork and togetherness all season, and it's hard to do that with a bunch of egos in the league". "[When] my son grows up, and I believe the legacy of our president is going to be what it is, I don't want him to say, 'Hey Dad, why'd you go when you knew the right thing was to not go?'" he said.
