Busy Aisha Tyler says goodbye to 'The Talk' after 6 years


On Thursday's episode of The Talk, cohost Aisha Tyler tearfully announced she is leaving after six seasons.

Aisha Tyler announces she will not return as one of the show's hosts next season today on "The Talk", Thursday, June 15, 2017 on the CBS Television Network.

Julie Chen confirmed that Tyler would be on the show until July, and said that Tyler "made the last six years of my life so solid and amusing and smart and just secure, I couldn't fly this plane with any other person to my right". I have had an wonderful six years with you guys. "I'll never be able to thank you guys enough". She also mentioned that she's going to be on show until the current season end.

Aisha Tyler broke down after revealing that in addition to her work as a series regular on three other TV series, CBS' Criminal Minds, the CW's Whose Line Is it Anyway?, and the FXX animated series Archer, her biggest desire is to direct her first feature film.

Tyler admitted that she's been busy over the years, taking on a number of gigs that, certainly, must occupy her time from morning to night.

The fan-favorite talk show is also hosted by Sharon Osbourne, Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert and Sheryl Underwood. Throughout her six seasons, she has made incredible contributions and shared personal moments, making our viewers, cast and crew all laugh, cry and think, as a result of her signature wit, intelligence and openness.

Tyler was in tears when she made her announcement. In her goodbye, she cited the recent successes of other female directors, including Ava DuVernay and "Wonder Woman's" Patty Jenkins.

In addition to The Talk, Tyler is now on CBS's Criminal Minds, where she just became a series regular.
