Aston Martin Bids the Vantage Farewell With These Awesome AMR Editions

ASTON Martin will be looking for more racing honours at this weekend's Le Mans 24 Hours race - but the British luxury sports auto maker will also be punting for a few lucrative sales.

Remember the Geneva motor show? The carbon add-ons include replacements for the seat frames, grille, side strakes, headlight surrounds, side mirror caps, instrument cluster surround, door tops and interior door handles. Power goes to the rear wheels through a choice of automatic or manual transmissions, which could make the AMR the last series production vehicle offered with a manual transmission and naturally aspirated twelve cylinder engine.

Four lovely exterior schemes are available for the Vantage AMR.

The Vantage AMR can be specified with additional options from the new AMR Accessories range, the most dramatic of which is the AMR Aero Kit.

There is also an optional grey-green and lime colour to choose, with enamel Union Jack emblems emblazoned on the body to commemorate last year's championship-winning GTE auto - a no cost option. This race car-inspired livery can be had with a Union Jack-enameled AML wings badge without having to pay extra. Front splitter and dive planes, plus side sills and a fixed rear spoiler.

Limited to a production run of just 300 cars, there will be 100 V12 engine models producing 586bhp and 200 V8 ones, producing 424bhp. The interior is created to match the exterior, combining different types of leather and Alcantara, plus contrasting coloured accents, to complement the various paint jobs. Further weight savings can be made with the AMR titanium exhaust, which saves 14kg over the standard V12 Vantage system, sounds sensational and helps to sharpen engine response. That makes it especially sad that none of the 200 V8 models, nor the 100 V12s, will be allocated for the United States market.

The first of these new models is the Vantage AMR, borrowing its handle from Aston Martin Racing. "Unmistakable in look and feel, the Vantage AMR will appeal to our most enthusiastic customers".

The Aston Martin Vantage AMR is the work of the British marque's motorsports arm, Aston Martin Racing (AMR) which was established in 2004. These are people who love our cars for their motorsport pedigree, and for their unmistakable dynamic and emotional qualities.

The most affordable version will start at Euro 126,995 in Germany, and the first cars will be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2017.
